I want to buy a violin for my girlfriend as a christmas gift from OPENTIP I usually visited for surprising. Currently it offers 10% discount with coupon code holiday10, together with extra free gift. But I don’t know much how to choose it. Is the higher price one better? She has just passed level 2.Maybe girls know girls. Or maybe I can find experts here. Could you give a hand? Thanks!

Ok if she's older than about 14 she'll want a full size violin. Mine was £500 and we bought it when I was Grade 4. The bow was then £75. Generally you pay for what you get so a better violin is more money but that doesnt necessarily mean you should go out and buy an expensive one because different violins feel different on different people so I recommend she goes with you to try some to see which feels best for her. I don't think I'd buy one off the internet either especially if she's a keen player simply because you cant try it first. If she only plays for fun every now and again then stick to cheaper because she wont need the highest quality ones. I think mine was somewhere in the middle and I used to play it a lot. I still use it quite a bit now and I've had it for about 8 or 9 years.0
