Experian Credit Score 760

Hi.

I checked my credit score today and it's now at 760, is this a decent credit score and would creditors lend to me. Im just wondering as i'm looking to get a loan but don't want to apply incase i'm rejected and it leaves a footprint on my report.

Thanks

Yeah you've wasted £6 on a score from a company that don't lend money.
You will never know your credit score..

The company giving you the number don't lend money. It means nothing.

Pay your bills on time. Operate your bank account well. Save up.
  • So you're saying that the credit score you're given from Experian doesn't make any difference to weather or not a company would lend to you? How do they make their decision to lend to someone then?

By means of checking details such as; electoral register ( are you registered?), length of time at address, time with employer, your salary, other financial commitments you may have and how many searches have been recorded on your file. If you have any late payments, missed payments or defaults. Basically they are all things you cankeep track of and time right for best chance of acceptance. You will never be told your score, and no one will ever know how it is generated. Experian score means nought as they are jot a lender, they are affectively admin staff who input data. You get what im saying mate? Hope that helps

I'd say it's quite worrying that you didn't get 999, everyone else seems to

The score you have been given by Experian is governed only by the information that you can see on your file i.e. searches, payments (up to date, late, missed etc) if your on electoral roll, how many accounts you have, what percentage of credit available / used credit etc.

What it does not take into account is your employement status, salary and other personal information that your file does not show. Therefore the score you have is not a true representation of the full picture.

    Hope this helps

I agree - obviously something on your file is not as it should be

Yeah totally agree a 999 credit score from Experian is pretty predictable.
