Paper to make confetti cones

Hello all you clever crafty people out there, please can you help me?
I want to make little cones to put confetti in for our wedding. I have instructions on how to make the cones, but I need paper to make them with.
I thought about wrapping paper, but worried it would be too flimsy, then I thought of origami paper, but that seems quite expensive.
Does anyone know what I could use?! Or if wrapping paper would be fine?
Also, where do I get the paper you suggest from please?!
Thank you,
MB x

I decided we couldn't face making these and so we're instead going to fill a wicker basket with ours so people can help themselves. Back when I was thinking of doing cones though I was just going to but some nice but thin card. I think you can also buy ready to make ones on ebay http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=m570&_nkw=confetti+cones Dont seem too pricey.
Hope that helps and I'm sure someone more knowledgable will be along soon!0 -
How about cotton wrapping paper, you know the homemade type stuff you can get? It's usually quite nice and thick. You could try Paperchase if you have one near you.0

I'd say fairly lightweight card too - the sort you would use if you were making greetings cards, it comes in patterned as well as plain. Try Amazon, ebay, pda, etc.

Hey,
Can I be nosey and ask where you got the instructions from?
I am debating whether to do cones or origami packages at the mo.0 -
Hadley-I got it from a wedding magazine..here are the instructions...
Cut paper into 15cm squares with scissors. Roll each square into a cone and glue along the inside edges. Fill with rose-petal confetti.
I'm going to use pinking shears to give them a funky edge bit...unless I give in and go for the far easier ebay option!!0 -
I've seen them made from paper doilys before, they look beautiful.
Or sheet music looks amazing too! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
I bought some flower shaped stickers and am using these to hold the cone together. The 15cm square holds the right amount of confetti, I did a test with smaller and larger cones!0
