Hi All,
I'm after some inspiration... Our colour theme for our wedding is lilac and pale blue and polkadots.
And I've managed to find lilac and blue polka dot fabric. My wedding brain is telling me that I MUST buy 100s of metres of it but before I splash out I wanted to work out where I can actually use it.
So far I have thought of
Thank you!

So far I have thought of
- As a tablecloth for the wedding cake and present table.
- To line the basket that the confetti will be held in
- To decorate the table plan and order of the days.
Thank you!

Have you done your invites? Maybe you could incorporate them there.
Could you make/get someone to make a ring cushion?
You could use it to bind the stems of your bouquet if you are making your own.
May use it to decorate wedding favours or wrap them up in the fabric.
You could use it to decorate candles if you are using them. Like this:

Do u fancy bunting?0

Table runners, small placemats to go under the table centres, coasters, napkins, bows to accent any floral display or the front of the top table, wrap bridesmaids gifts in it furoshiki style, drapes for the backs of the chairs on the top table, coasters, use a sizzix machine or similar to punch out shapes and use them as table scatter, dolly bags for the bridesmaids, favour bags (if you have patience! Circles of fabric with sweets inside if not lol!). cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0

Love the placemats, gift wrapping and ring cushion ideas and may well think about a sawg for the top table! I think table runners may be overkill and I defo don't have the patience for favour bags!
I love the idea of bunting but our venue has quite a low ceiling so it may not work... I wonder if I could have some outside though...0 -
What's your cake like? Could you turn it into ribbon to go around the cake? (Obviously will only work if the dots are small enough!)0

My cake is already going to be polka dotty so it may be overkill with dotty ribbon too but I'll save some material to double check. I've decided to make some letter bunting of our names to go on the front of the top table instead of an organza swag too.
Thanks for all the ideas guys!0 -
I am having a polka dot cake too! 3 different colour layers i think. htb's Gran makes wedding cakes. She asked if we had a topper and i said no not yet and she said something about ribbon so i said ok. Then bought a topper well 2 oops. htb spoke to her yesterday she has made a topper out of icing so not sure whats happening lol i am sure it will be lovely though.0

I really wanted a personalised cake topper (small blonde bride, tall brunette groom) but I think I've left it too late to get one made for me. May end up trying to make my own out of icing instead! I'm not incredibly crafty though so if its rubbish I'll have to pretend that my 12 year old cousin made it or something!
What are the ones you bought like? You'll have to 'top' other things too!0 -

I really liked the idea of something practical you can put in the cuboard/on a shelf after. I wanted little mini me's type topper but left it to late for the good ones. Some of them are booked up years in advance :O.0 -
Here's some hints and tips if you want to make your own topper?
I wish I'd thought of doin it myself sooner! I think I may have left it a bit late now! :rotfl:
