New here in need help quick!

Hi everyone, i am new here and need help quick, we started a family 2 years ago and went from earning £3500 a month between us to earning £800 now. We owe about £18,000 altogether. we havent been able to pay our debts for at least a year and a half and are paying through a debt managment plan at the moment where we can just about afford £50 per month. they suggested that we declare my husband bankrupt because he has the bulk of the debt in his name. we cant afford the bankrupcy fee to start with and we would have to sell our family car they say. My husband needs the car to get to work and also to transfer our 2 children around in. Any suggestions??

one of the creditors is hfc and they are evil and are kicking and screamin about not getting there money and want to take us to court, our house is rented but i am so scared, help please

Yes Mrsharvey, do us a statement of affairs and I am sure we can help you. Also is your debt management plan with a company that takes a fee, or with Payplan/CCCS?

Who is managing your DMP? Is it one of the fee-taking companies or CCCS/PayPlan who are completely free?

I think with bankruptcy you can sometimes keep your car if you can prove it is needed for work, though you might be expected to downgrade it if it's worth a lot.
