    As this is not a US qualified penion you are presumably already reporting the growth under IR Code section 402(b) annually on your US tax returns and possibly claiming treaty relief.

    Not sure about US taxation but tI believe this is an unfunded scheme, so there is no fund growth per se.

    From memory during the pension review, some public sector schemes did give very generous transfer values (to the extent that they caused a lot of rerunning of calculations until we understood this). This seems to have been because the fund made an allowance for the possibility of joining another public sector scheme.

    However, I think the OP is very unlikely to get an IFA to recommend it.
