Best thing about this thread is at least the OP is now thinking about it.
I understand the want to pay off your Mortgage early but, depending on if/what you are overpaying or not and the interest rates you have currently it might be a more efficient use of this money to put it into a Pension purely do to the tax relief that you gain from this, especially as a higher rate tax payer.
The sums can be worked out and it would show you quite easily where the most benefit will come from, but you would need to sit and really work it out (or get a professional to do it for you...) and at least you would have an answer.I work in finance
