Training whilst on jobseekers allowance.

I currently work part time on a fixed term contract. My employer has told me that I either increase my hours to full time or leave. I'm gutted and feel they have treated me pretty unfairly for one reason and another but I just want to move on. I had been hoping to return to college part time in September and this job was going to fund my course but still give me time to study etc. I'm hoping to get another job asap but not much part time about where I am at the moment. At the moment I want to tell my employers what they can do with their job but I wonder whether I'd be better off hanging on until its time to sign up for my course, claiming jobseekers allowance and getting the course for a few pounds rather than several hunded. I've never claimed benefits before and it feels a bit dishonest to claim just so I can get reduced fee on training but on the other hand I will be unemployed, I've worked hard and I'm doing what I can to improve my circumstances. Does anyone know whether there is a limit to how long you have to be on benefits to get reduced cost training?
