should i mention holiday?

I have just booked a holiday for the end of june (:j) However i have a job interveiw a week today (eek!) and really want the job! Where do i stand with pre-booked holiday and do you think it would put an employer off?

If they ask then mention it. If it's prebooked they have to honour it. If you were to get the job and hadn't mentioned it you may come unstuck as some employers may then be funny with you wanting time off which they didn't previously know aboutSaved: £1566.53/ £20000

The responsibility should be on the employer to ask at the interview if you have any holidays booked. It should be a standard interview question which doesn't always get asked.
If they ask, then say you have confirmed holidays booked. If the company wants the right person for the job then it shouldn't make any difference.
If they didn't ask at the interview which they should have done, I would mention that you have confirmed holidays booked on your 1st day of employment to let them know and they probably would not be able to do anything about it.0 -

im sorry but i would disagree on one point here, if its not mentioned at the interview and you bring it up after you start work then im sure they can refuse to let you have the time off, an employer can choose when the employee takes their holidays.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
We always ask. If they don't, I wouldn't bring it up myself.
A week wouldn't make any difference to us or most employers I think. It's the people who turn out to be disappearing on a month long honeymoon just after starting who come a cropper.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Yep. If they don't mention it at the interview and they offer you the job, you tell them before accepting it. That way the employer will know you want the week off then and you know they want you.
Most good interviewers will ask if there's any holidays booked, and it's then you'll tell them.0 -

The fact that the employer did not mention it at an interview which in my opinion is an important interview question suggests that it's not relevent to the interviewer.
Like others have suggested a Good interviewer would always ask the question.0 -
