Amazon - removed payment method

Hi
Due to Amazon not being the safest of online sites (in my opinion anyway), every time I've bought something on there I remove my card details. Then I get a message saying 'you have removed your payment details, this will not affect any outstanding orders you have made'
Did this today and did not get that message, is the payment likely to not go through as it normally would? Probably posted this in the wrong section but couldn't find anywhere more suitable.
Thanks

Wow...stop being so paranoid and just keep your card details on there. I've used Amazon for 10 years and never had a problem. If it's a credit card, you should have cover anyway. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

I have stored a few years' worth of credit card details - mine, OH's and work account - and several addresses - including home, work and the Mother-in-law's - for several years and not had a problem. I think Amazon is one of the safest?? Admittedly, there have been sites where I've done the same as you (OP) and not allowed them to 'store' the details. Amazon never caused me any problems.
Perhaps they didn't send you the email this time as your shopping habits became apparent on the account and the settings on their system changed because of it? I wouldn't worry - credit cards you are covered anyway.

Thanks for replies but my order has been sent out anyway.
It wasn't a credit card, it was a debit card which is why I am much more careful with it.£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit) - £588
