Mortgages for Fixed-term with Guarantor?

Dear anyone who can help/advise,

Me and my partner are first time buyers and are trying to find a mortgage we have a house in the waiting, he is permanant as a manager and I'm on a fixed term contract (for 1 year), working as a teacher. No one will offer us a mortgage based on this, even though our wages put together cover over the mortgage loan we need! We have a 10% deposit and now my partner's dad has offered to be a guarantor for us, which I believed cancelled out the fact I was on a fixed term contract because if we cannot pay then the guarantor is relied upon. However, having rung round many companies, everyone is still saying my fixed term is a problem and refusing us. No one is giving any advice or giving the key to fixing our problem

Does anyone know of a company that offers mortgages to people on a fixed term or temperary contract, with or without a guarantor?
Running out of ideas and becoming very worried about it!
Would really appriciate any advice/past experiences.

Thanks
