Soft footprint

Hi all,
I've got an appointment on Saturday with Lloyds to discuss a mortgage, she said that they will check my credit file but will only leave a soft foot print so that only they and myself will know it's been checked, is this OK as I'm probably going to see an independant broker at some point so don't want loads of footprints left on my credit file and reducing my credit score for future mortgage applications.
Cheers,
Andy
