topping for ginger cake

Hi I made the other day a "light" ginger cake now it tasted lovely but I would like to put a topping of some kind on it next time I make it .Any ideas please? Thank you:)

    glace icing flavoured with ginger syrup.

    I like lemon or orange icing on a ginger cake. If the cake is tall enough to slice and fill it's yummy to fill it with marmalade, too :)

    We made a ginger cake for a Caribbean party. Sliced it, and filled it with rum flavoured cream and put bananas on top. It all went in about three seconds! :) If it is for kids I would put just the cream or flavour it with rum or banana essence.

    Now that sounds yum;:D Boys are very near turning 18 so think I can give this a go;)
