Hello everybody..
It's been a few years since BR... and my life is of course substantially less stressful...
I've been getting conflicting information about when the BR stops showing up on the records.. is it 6 years post BR or post discharge..?

Hi RL, It's 6 years from the date of your Bankruptcy Order x"If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride"

Have you checked your credit file and done the necessary clean up?

Yes, I've just started tidying things up... the question was raised as my wife got a bit upset about the confusion..
I didn't get AD.. due to an overseas property that the OR took time over tidying up.. we had been patiently counting down the 6 years before we would be able to buy our own house..and then we read it was only cleared 6 yrs after discharge..
Anyway.. after posting the question.. I read the excellent sticky about getting a mortgage.. was most encouraged

I could not agree more, I think it should be removed from the London Gazzette after a period of time, why is it 6 years anyway? where did that come from? As a point of interest what happens in other countries? is it recorded forever? or is it removed after 6 years? Sorry to rant but as my BR was not my fault it makes me angry to think I did nothing wrong and end up with a black mark against my name :mad:If you woke up this morning congratulations, you have another chance :j0 -
It's an interesting point.. you commit a heinous crime, you get a tax payer funded new identity... or invited to sit in parliament.. yet as a BR you're scared/labelled/stigamised for ever...
Surely one for the European Court of Human Rights... but then I suggest most of us are so relieved to reach discharge, that we would rather put it behind us and move on...0 -
Its quite simple WHY
A BR has committed the ultimate sin as far as the judical is concerned, they are mainly wealthy well-connected families owning land, money and banks, BRs have borrowed and havent paid it back, you threaten the very fabric of thier world (never mind that many BRs are tax payers so have bailed thier banks out) and so you must SUFFER, as must your family, you must be dragged through the mud and have your name tarnished for all eternity0 -
youd think the public notice in the LG would contravene not only the European Human Rights act but also the data protection act, with it being a court/legal process
how do we take this further?0
