Grrrrr need a wedding outfit!

Hi everyone!
I hope all your wedding plans are coming along well! I still lurk on this thread occasionally and now I need some help!
I have three weddings to go to this year as a guest, the first one being in a few weeks time, and I have no idea what to wear!! Luckily each wedding is a completely different group of friends so I can wear the same outfit to each wedding and no-one will know! :T:money:. The first wedding we're going to is an evening invitation but the other two (one at the end of May and one in the middle of July) are all day invites.
Brides have it so easy, they're (normally) the one in the big white dress! :rotfl:But I am really struggling to find something to wear. Does anyone have any ideas? I think I want a dress, but am wavering between maxi dress and short (knee-length-ish).
I'm 5'10" and size 14 and could really do with some ideas! My skin tone is very pale, english rosey, and I have brown hair. I tend to stick to black a lot, but wear some colour sometimes!
Oh and if possible, if it's on the littlewoods website that'd be fab as I have an account and can pay it off monthly!

Why not book a session with a Debenhams personal shopper & get some ideas of styles & colours, then look on the Littlewoods website? I would get something dressy, that you can mix & match accessories / jacket / wrap / shoes etc to give a different look for each event.0

I know it's not littlewoods, but if it was me, I think I'd try to go for something by say Coast or Monsoon, as they sell quite well second hand. As you'd only have worn it a few times, you could then sell it on and get a bit of money back?much work to be done - new sig coming soon...0

InStyle magazine (www.instyle.co.uk) have done quite a few galleries of wedding guest outfits - I bought the dress for my cousin's wedding (in April), my boyfriend's sister wedding (in September) and possibly my sister's best's friend's sister's wedding (in August) after looking in their suggestions. Maybe try that? They've got lots of ideas at various price points, my dress was £50 and then I bought shoes separately to go with it at £20.
However - sod's law! - since I bought it I've seen loads of other weddingy dresses I love, particularly this one: http://www.aspirestyle.co.uk/products/all/fever-kennedy-prom-dress-3283"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -

Hope you find something, not sure if you have one near you but last wedding I went to I managed to get a gorgeous monsoon dress from a monsoon clearance shop in clarks village, always have lovely dresses in there0 -
It's not Littlewoods, but check out Vivien of Holloway (http://www.vivienofholloway.com/) for 50s swing and wiggle dresses - I wore one to a wedding last year and felt awesome in it (great for dancing) and got so many positive comments. I'm also a size 14 and found the swing/circle dresses incredible, ridiculously flattering!
Good luck. x
If at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you0 -
Wow, thanks everyone, so many things to look at!
jojo - I do love Vivien of Holloway dresses, my normal dress type of choice when I get to dress up for something is a strapless, 50s style prom dress with a full skirt, I love them so much! I think they're so flattering
And VoH have got a sale on too!
Thank you!!:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -

Oooh, that dress is gorgeous! I'm hoping to make a dress for my friend's wedding but I've not made clothes before so I'm looking for back-up dresses just in case. That's in my favourites now!0
