Hi all just a quick query really.
I am on a 13 week New Deal course which is coming to end soon... He said they is a possibilty that they will be some part time work available (between 15-16hr's a week) and ofc i would like to take it (i do want to work!) as it would get a job on my c.v and it's always easier to get another job when your currently employed...
What help would i get i live with my partner but we have no children and i am 30 she is 34.
Would i still be entitled to some JSA?
I see my New Deal advisor on Monday but i would just like to know if someone has any ball park figure's of what help i would be entitled to.
Many thank's.

I dont have much of an idea but if you needed help from anyone on here you need to post more details, like how much does
your other half earn.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Depends on how much you'd earn. The law says you need £102.75 to live on which is the amount of JSA you're probably getting now. If it's income based JSA then your earnings will be taken into account less a £10 disregard. So say you earned £90 they'd use the figure £80 and you'd have JSA of £22.75. Basically you're better off by £10 pw.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0

16hours is classed as full time work in JCP terms so you would need to sign off, you could be entitled to tax credits as a single person on a low income you need to be over 25 years old to claim that.
if less than 16hours you can declare that as part time earnings and the frist five pound would be disregarded but the rest would be taken into account from your JSADebt total 2008 £3800
Debt total 2009 £2800
Debt total 2010 £1800
Debt total 2011 £400 will be paid off in two months!:j:j:j:j:j:j

Yeah joint claim my partner is currently unemployed and looking for work.
That's not good only being 10 quid a week better off i would have 5.20 twice to pay a week for travel :mad:0 -
Still, its something to put on your CV for any future employer and it gets you out of the house.
Its a foot in the door, if youre working there, a full time job may come up in the future.
Good luckmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Here's some info about grants but you must work 16 hours and that will then take you off JSA.
If your partner becomes the claimant you can work up to 24 hours but then again your income would probably then mean you come off JSA altogether. That's not a bad thing as you can still get Housing benefit based on a low income and possibly health benefits such as dental, prescriptions and eye tests/ glasses vouchers
