Mmm the lack of people with info / doing this either indicates a gap in the market as there aren't many reps or that it is carp money for the effort! Anyone know any more about it and if it is worth doing?

Well I am amazed how little info there is about Jamie at Home on here - when I started Avon I spent about a week reading all the threads:eek: :p It makes me wonder whether there is some sort "ban" on discussing it online? Although Netmums has a Massive thread!! Or possibly not many people do it?

Anyway, I went to a party on Friday and really enjoyed it - yes the products are at a higher price than some would like to pay but I really thought they were excellent quality. i have spent the weeknd scouring the internet for (generally limited!) info and am seriously thinking about giving it a go :j

I have read all the advice about doing something you love (and I love the products!) plus some tips from people about getting parties etc. I guess I just wondered if there are people doing it and if it is / was worthwhile? I couldn't make Avon worthwhile for me, I am a teacher, more doing these things for "fun" and Avon stopped being "fun"! :o

I think I would be happy to buy the kit, do 4 parties and maybe give it a go over the summer and if it didn't work just keep all the pretty things!!! Anybody else done this? Or got any advice?

I would really love to hear from anyone who does / has done Jamie - but all comments appreciated as it is my first "party plan" :cool2:

I have been to one of the partys and personally prefer pampered chef. The product choice is limited, my friend wanted a new milk pan but they didn't have any, there isn't a full stock of everything cooking related, more like key products that they have chosen. One example is the serving platter for cold meats eaten casually with friends. Can't remember price exactly but think it may have been £60-80.
The products are pricey, you need to have friends willing to pay out to sell these.

hiya I did this for about 6 months and only gave it up cause I was paid better for my time in another job.

the kit and products are good quality but as said above expensive. My main bugbear and advice would be not to buy anything you don't personally want to keep once you have finished. It was very easy to think I will sell more of a particular product if I have one to show guests and then end up spending £100's.

I made about £50 per party on average and sometimes got bookings sometimes didn't. I also sold a lot of lucky squares at fetes etc then had a draw for prizes to make up a "party."

They do have a monthly team meeting which you are meant to attend.

you do need to buy the stationary, catalogues, invites etc nothing was very expensive.

It wasn't a bad experience but I do have loads of stuff I can't seem to get shot off that I'll never use and paid a fair bit of money for.

    hope that helps

Thanks for your comments both - yes sah I agree I need to find people willing to pay the prices as they are out of some people's budget.

Thanks lots for your reply batgirl, interesting to hear from someone who has done jamie (!) before. I am kind of thinking of it as a way to get lots of nice products for me! so will def focus on buying things I actually will use :D Chatted to a few people at work today so hoping to get a couple of parties without harassing people too much!!
