International student loans

Hi Guys,

Having sifted through pages and pages of just words with no meaning, i figured it'd be best to just ask people who have been through the same thing.

I'm heading to Australia to start a course for 2 years, can i get student loans in Oz, do i have to use a U.K Loan ooooor are there any other options? What's the best way to do it? I hopefully have enough money but i want the loan to be a back up just incase I can't fully afford the fees at there due time.

Hopefully this makes sense!!! Please help!!

    What will you be studying?

I can tell you now that Aussie will not give you any loans - why should they?

What course are you going to get in Australia?...I suggest that you inquire with the school first have your pre-assessment so you can know your needed tuition fees. Post-secondary schooling relies on federal financing for a large part of their money. Last year, the federal government considered legislation that would limit what kind of financing universities can receive.

Only Australian Nationals are eligible for government funding and you'll get nothing from the UK.

There's an active thread on the Student Board at the moment and it shows how much higher fees are there than in the UK.

I think you need to reassess your plans.

    ETA. Not the Student Board.
