Credit rating?

Hi, this may be in the wrong place but i'll give it a go!
My oh is a member of creditexpert and wants to know his credit score, but they charge £5.95 for this, does anyone know of any way of finding out your credit score WITHOUT having to pay? Or at least not pay as much?

Many thanks

    Hi

You can sign up for a 30 day free trial and get your score/report that way. It's free as long as you cancel by the 30th day. x

That will give you access to your credit file but I don't think it will give you your 'Credit Score', or am I wrong? I pay monthly fee's to Experian and I would still have to pay £5.95 to receive my Credit Score even though I have access to my file whenever I want.

I am on the 30 day trial with Experian, I can see my credit score and my credit report. Credit score says 900.

    If that helps?

The credit 'score' means nothing in real life applications. It's just a score based around their formulas. In the real world of applications with lenders - it simply means nothing. Save your ££££'s regarding the score part - but do get the free trials to monitor you actual credit information.

WOW... I pay £6.95pm and I don't get to see my score without paying an extra £5.95. Makes me wonder what the hell I am paying for!

    Thanks for the info Lucy.

They've changed what new customers get I think. You get the score and other stuff all for one price? £14.99?

May be worth giving them a ring, as they seem to be doing deals for existing or returning subscribers if you ask.

OOOh ... I may look into it Fermi. At the moment I like to keep a tab on my file. Not too interested in the 'score' but I have become a little obsessive with my file and things being recorded as it should etc mainly because this time next year I should a clean file again... just wish I knew all I needed to know about it.

Thanks to you and many other on here though I am learning dammed fast! :)

Yes it will be £14.99 p/m if I decide to carry on with a subscription but I will wait for another week or so and cancel it.
