lol oh dear, probably best to assume it's not and check beforehand, mind you if the voucher acceptance is anything to go by they won't have a clue what you're talking about
you would assume that if the metro store has price check banners, billboards, leaflets etc. then DTD should apply within that store.
but then again, this is tesco....:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

Just got back and entered my details - shopped at 7pm, entered details at about 8pm. Any guesses on when I can expect an email? I know it's sad but I'm a bit excited - I really need to get a life!!!0

Where do you live?? Can you please come with me when I go to the check out??
ps I will pay you with Turner Road wine and Baileys
Well, while I'm here, as may as well tell the tale of this afternoon's shop. Let's just say 'no problems' wasn't quite true...
I did a DTD shop and proceeded to the checkout, £76 voucher in hand. I looked for the same cashier as last time, but she was on the basket till and wouldn't have been as happy as I anticipated with a trolley full of junk food, whisky and DVDs.
Instead, I went for the unknown quantity of a middle-aged woman I'd been served by before DTD came along.
She didn't know what to do with my voucher.
Cue supervisor in headset running to her aid and my sphincter tightening at the thought of the grilling I was about to receive. My fingers began rubbing on the bit of the receipt that revealed my last £100 shop was paid for with a £92 voucher, but to no avail.
I was moved to a different till, away from all other customers and I swear a bit of poo came out as beads of sweat began to form on my forehead.
The supervisor asked the following questions:
1. How did you get such a high amount?
2. Have you done this before?
3. Did you do it on purpose? (By which I think she meant, 'did I purposefully seek out goods priced higher in Tesco's than ASDA's')
4. You did it on purpose, didn't you?
Followed by:
5. Go on, admit it.
I answered with the following:
Gamjupsssssssssssssssjjjjjjjjphhhhhhhhhh, before I pulled myself together and lied through my teeth, claiming it was both my mum and dad's birthday that week so I was stocking up on alcohol and just by chance it had been cheaper in ASDA.
As she looked at me with more than a hint of suspicion in her eyes, my legs suddenly felt strong enough to carry me, very fast, out of the store never to be seen again.
This, fortunately, was before she uttered the immortal words:
'I've been doing this myself at ASDA - teeheehee'.
My relief was audible and could be heard smashing several bottles of Pinot Grigio on the conveyor belts fifty feet away from me.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -

Just got back from using my first DTD voucher for £55.80.
The SA was a young lad who just smiled when he saw it. Called the supervisor who came over and told me my only problem was that my shopping only came to £53.75 and it had to be over the voucher amount.... :rotfl:.... You should have seen the face of the guy behind me in the queue while I sent OH to grab something quickly..lol.
Other than that no problems, perfectly polite and they signed the old receipt but not the new one.
I used this for a normal shop (lots of BOGOF's), my next shop will be a DTD and then I will use the voucher for a normal shop which seems fair to me.
This was at the new Musselburgh Extra.0 -
