Awful night's sleep here, Rhys up at 4...

Hubby has a meeting at 10.30 which won't be over until 12.30 and then we should be home at 1. I think while he's in me and Rhys will go have a nosey at the shops. Really need to paint ceiling and walls white today, the walls are red and blue so it's gonna be a !!!!!! to cover.

Suppose i should shift and get dressed...
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

WM+TD on, casserole in the oven.........plodding on.....
  • Morning everybody

I have been lurking on here for a while and trying to get my house looking reasonable but this week I have extra motivation and so need some extra help. I have 2 friends coming to stay on Friday for the weekend, and although I'm getting to grips with the clutter around the place, I now need it to be spotlessly clean, which is something I don't really know how to do!!

So I'm going to try and do everything at levels 1 and 2 and experiment with some 3 for this week as this should clean up most of the mess, and hopefully they just won't look in the oven or under the sofa!

    So here goes...
Monday ~ Kitchen and Dining room
    Level One

    Sweep and mop floor
    Clear and wipe worksurfaces
    Level Two
    Wipe units and appliances..
    clean blinds/curtains
Clear and wipe table.. clean cloth!
    Level Three
    [STRIKE]Scrub out the fridge[/STRIKE]
    Clean oven and [STRIKE]hob!
    [/STRIKE]
    Clear window sills of gibble!

    Extras
    1. Binbag dance
    2. HHI
    3. Wipe small appliances
    4. Clean out the vacuum cleaner.. wash filters etc!
Tuesday ~ Living room, Hallway, Stairs
    Level One

Remove clutter from floors and chairs
Open the windows and let in some fresh air
    Level Two
    Vacuum floors and sofas
    Dust those flat fluffy surfaces
    Level Three
Vacuum under the furniture you can move
    Clean windows, pictures, mirrors etc.
Change any lightbulbs that need doing!
Vacuum hall and stairs.. all the way up to the top!!!!!

    Extras
    • Wipe woodwork in the hall and stairs & wipe front door.. inside and out!
    • Clean out your handbag.. how many receipts??
    • 15 minutes filing
Bedding is in the WM and DW is about to go on now I've finished breakfast so I'll report back in an hour how much I've accomplished!
But thank you so much to everyone who organises this thread, you don't know how much it has helped in the past when I'm struggling under a mound of dirty washing and grime!

Busy day today, so not much will get done. Rhyme time and grocery shopping to do.
I'm very glad I did the hall and stairs yesterday, makes it slightly less daunting.
Tuesday ~ Living room, Hallway, Stairs
    [STRIKE]Level One[/STRIKE] DONE

[STRIKE]remove clutter from floors, chairs and fireplace[/STRIKE] - No fireplace, floor is pretty clear, but I have a lounge of doom piled high with whatever we have had in the loungeroom and want to keep but don't quite have a place for it, and the clean washing to be sorted:eek:I am declaring it a victory on the lounge - it's not perfect, but now 2 people can sit on 3 seater
[STRIKE]Open the windows and let in some fresh air[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Vacuum floors and sofas[/STRIKE] - I wiped down the sofas yesterday when baby weed all over one. I can't vacuum the rug, we are in a study on alleergies and I need to leave it 3 days to collect dust to send off, I did it Sunday night. Have swept up laminate floors.
[STRIKE]Wipe and water neglected plants[/STRIKE] Only have bathroom plants so I did them
    Dust those flat fluffy surfaces
    Level Three
Vacuum under the furniture you can move
    Clean windows, pictures, mirrors etc.
Vacuum hall and stairs.. all the way up to the top!!!!!
    Extras
    • [STRIKE]Wipe woodwork in the hall and stairs & wipe front door.. inside and out![/STRIKE] Did it yesterday :j
    • [STRIKE]Clean out your handbag.. how many receipts??[/STRIKE] Did this one yesterday, too, so I could fit in the bread for the ducks at the park.
    • 15 minutes filing
    • Breastfeeding leakage means I'll be doing my bed, too:(
I refuse to enter a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent:rolleyes:

Congratulations to Seafarers Wife and Lauradora on their recent weddings.

DH is working from home today so I've done a HHI this morning.

Today I have a homestart support group meeting and lunch with a DF. I also need to go to Mr T as the cupboards are bare.

Cycling re the Ipod touch - The Apple helplines and online help are very good if you have a problem. I had the same problem with my iphone and they sorted it out in 10 mins:).
