Cleaning silver plate

I have a flute that I am going to ebay, but it needs a good polish....any ideas how I can get it gleaming again?

I looked in the index but most of the ideas seemed to involve immersing the item...I can't do that as it would get the pads wet.

Thanks x

  • A silver cloth may be the best idea, they are blue dusters inpregnated with some sort of cleaner, they can be found in the cleaning isle about £3.50 i think not cheap but very good and no water ect is needed and they wont scratch your flute

Thanks for your reply...I actually buffed it up with a microfibre cloth and got the tarnish off with toothpaste! I was a bit scared :rotfl: but it came up lovely :T
