I need to ask for total of loan charges --help!

Hi - took out personal unsecured loan with blackhorse.. for last couple of years been paying reduced monthly amount and issue has been the default charges and interest they have applied --

I want to take issue with these as have continually requested they freeze both as I have always paid on time the amount we have agreed to and they verbally agreed to stop charges but every month a letter of default came through the door with more charges on!

My last phone conversation with them didn't go very well - I wanted them to freeze interest and charges to allow me to actually pay the debt off and not get further into debt as I was -- there answer was to put me onto a debt agency!

I am willing to pay whoever the monthly amount I can afford be it bh or d/a but want a break down of charges bh has applied since going into default-- how can I request this

I have been looking on this and other sites and know it is prob here somewhere but going abit crosseyed so hoping this will be quicker:)

To be honest, the way you have been treated is fairly standard of all companies I had dealings with when I was struggling financially.

In most (if not all - can't quite remember - it was a while ago now!) it wasn't until the debt was passed on to a debt collection agency that interest was stopped. In addition to this, I was in a DMP and they negotiated with my creditors to arrange interest and charges to be stopped.

I believe that you should be getting annual statements for your loan which would detail all of the charges incurred. If you haven't received these statements, then you should be able to ask for them.
