Remove Ex from house deeds

How do I go about getting my Ex husbands name removed from the deeds to my house? I owned the house before we met and after we married took out a mortgage for repairs, we separated a year later and he did not make any payments towards the mortgage but agreed that he would make no claim on the property, we are now divorced and am in a position to pay off the remaining mortgage, I do not want his name to remain on the deeds.

  • Talk to your lender. If you have sufficient income to take on the mortgage in your own right, it should not be a problem, even less so if you mean immediately pay it off - though checl the deal you are on, you don't want to be charged early repayment fees unnecessarily.

Check your divorce settlement/solicitor for mention of the house...you have to follow what was laid down.
Act in haste, repent at leisure.
