I'm after a new bed, Kingsize I think, I like quite a firm bed, I'm a big lad
Local furniture place has a sale on Hypnos beds, looks very swish and come with a ten year guarantee. (5 years fixed plus another 5 years on a sliding scale)
I have looked on their website but dont seem to be able to find a specification table for their different models.
I am happy, well willing more than happy, to splash out on a good bed, so welcome your suggestions/recommendations please
regards

Thanks for posting this Stu - I'm after a kingsize bed too so will watch your thread with interest
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!0 -
Don't touch anything that doesn't give specifications!
There's another post similar to this, where they paid £1400 for a bed, and very quickly ended up with two deep indents in it.
The seller has sent out a man with a stick to put across the bed, to see if he could stick his fist under it in the dents. He couldn't, so their claim was rejected.
Got a brilliant Silentnight myself, but I only bought the mattress. Nearly £500 mind, but it is VERY good, Dual layer springs of different load bearing characteristics, and a foam layer insulation.
Would avoid memory foam, as they seem to be selling a lot of covers for them, so your skin can breath. Must be making people very sweaty.0 -
I've recently taken delivery of this superkingsize from Feather and Black. It wasn't cheap but it is the best bed we've ever had. My husband is over 6ft and 250lbs or thereabouts so he likes a lot of space.
We opted for a tennyson matress which could be different tensions on each side - that was also good as I like a slightly firmer bed than hubby.
We've used F&B before and I have to say the service was every bit as good second time round - would highly recommend.
I wasn't sure I could justify £2000 on a mattress alone but we got it in the sale so it was nearer £1500 and I figure we spend a lot of time in bed so it deserves a decent investment.
Good luch with your search:)NO FARMS = NO FOOD0 -

Well thought through scot ... you rationalised your choice, and yes, you do spend a lot of time in bed, so it should be comfortable, but ...
Don't forget that a bad bed could also cause you back problems etc, and that is just as important to mention. You could have a bad back for the rest of your life with a bad bed choice.0 -
Thought i was being clever when i got an excellent deal on a king size mattress at Dreams. Got it home and it stunk really bad of chemical fumes, i opened the window and aired it, but after a few days it was still really bad i was having really bad headaches. couldnt return it in the end and had to buy another mattress so ended up quite a costly excercise, in the end decided to go with a mattress online , another risk, but it paid off. I didn't want the chemical disaster again so 'invested' so to speak in an organic/natural mattress from buyorganics. Really love it, best sleep ever, following that i changed my kids mattresses too. delivery took a bit of time, so not an instant option if you want a mattress today as it had to be made for me to my specification. Worth the effort!0

Have had this bed for about 3 months:
House of Fraser: Linea Sleepcare 1400 Pillowtop Divan Set
and love it every day!
You can't buy the kingsize (180cm) online (though you can view the bed), but you can instore, and can try it there as well (very important).
H of F have a home event on at present - worth buying during one of these as the savings are significant. If you can't make up your mind straight away, they do resume home events quite often, but may be able to honour the sale price even out of event time.
The divan comes in a choice of coverings, with or without drawers, and you can buy a matching headboard in the same fabric.
The pillowtop adds to the softness and comfort, but it's worth noting that you will need to buy extra deep fitted sheets - not hard to find (even M & S do them) but the colour range might be restricted.
We have standard firmness which seems fine and the bed is well made.
I advise you to try quite a few beds before making your decision. The bed (not this one) which we tried first and liked seemed awful when we went back later having tried several others!
Hope this helps.0
