Powergen error but won't backdate discount etc
I switched gas & elec to Powergen in April. As we had a balance with NPower we kept a monthly direct debit to them to clear the balance. When looking into how much we still owed NPower I discovered that the gas transfer hadn't gone ahead and NPower were still supplying us. I queried this with Powergen who said the gas transfer had been cancelled and it was their error.
Now the transfer has finally gone ahead. So I've asked for:
-Backdated dual fuel discount on the elec from when I should have had both fuels with them
-AND Tesco Clubcard points in lieu of missing gas payments to Powergen
-AND compensation re the higher charges we were paying with NPower when we should have been with Powergen.
They've just called me and said they can't backdate anything but all will be as I asked from the start date of the gas supply! I wondered if there is some comeback as they failed to provide the service I signed up for in April and as such we've been missing out on all of the above.

I'd work out exactly how much the difference is in money (eg how much you have lost in the difference in prices, how much in dual fuel discounts (that wouldn't be much I imagine), the clubcard points (also I don't think that will be much) and if it's worth it, complain to energywatch, giving your figures.Indecision is the key to flexibility0

No they dont have to backdate it but as a matter of goodwill you would think they would of done something for you. Go back speck to a manager and tell them you will leave them unless they do somethingFiliss0
