Hello very new to this forum lark but willing to learn.....
I opted out of SERPS 25 years ago - I was 18 and didn't give a monkeys about pensions as I was never going to get old......
I'm now trying to find out where it went/its gone ? Where do I start ?

What sort of pension scheme was it? If it was a final salary scheme then it would have (sort of) gone into that - however this does not really show as a pot of money, but as a guaranteed minimum pension (GMP) which is what the pension scheme agreed to provide in return for the rebate on NI. Most final salary schemes were contracted out.
If you had a defined contribution scheme, then the contracted out funds would most likely have gone into the same scheme - this should show on your statement as a protected rights amount. This could be part of the £52K you have 'found' that you mention in your second post. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/31083940
