Deafault on Credit File

Hiya hope i have posted on right section.

Can anyone please tell me how long do a company have to remove a default from your credit file once the time has elapsed??

I have looked about the forum but cannot find this information so any help would be great.

I am now debt free :j:jsince January 2009
but really need to learn how to save and budget to get some savings behind me :eek:

Should come off automatically 6 years after the default date.

If it's still there, then query it with the credit reference agency.
