I went to abby to apply for a loan, they quoted me 9% but they then refused me after they did a credit check.
I'm going to sit down and a SOA and let you all know. I'm a lil too scared to know so fingers crossed its not too depressing.
Thanks again folks. X

It's going to take another 6 months for my credit history to clear. In the mean time I'm making monthly payment of £70 on my credit card but my total owed is only going down by £3! Which is so frustrating!!!!
I've read your recommendations and had a look at other banks and think I'm going to join Alliance & Leister.
I've been using the internet for about 6 years now, and this by far is the best forum I've ever used.
Thank you. :T
The Basic Accounts were set up to help people with a poor credit history - there is no reason at all why you shouldn't open a Basic Account with another bank immediately.
Look at the banks on the link I posted for you earlier today.
A basic bank account does not allow you any overdraft facility, nor will you have a cheque book. Most of them work with either Visa Electron or Solo.0 -
Bad credit isnt cleared after 6 months - missed payments will show on your credit file for 6 YEARS!
You will be unlikely to get a debit card bank account within this amount of time although ALL banks offer a standard bank account (bank card not debit card) I would suggest you cut back and overpay your card to get out of this situation.
