Why is my bank account still open?

Hello all, this is my first post on here so please be gentle with me:-)
My query is this:
I have been bankrupt since last September 2010 but for some reason my bank account was never frozen.
As of today it is still active which is strange because I thought that one of the conditions of bankruptcy was that all your existing accounts were frozen.
Not that I have any money in there, in preparation of my bankruptcy I took what little money I had out and I don't owe this particular bank any money.
Does anyone know why this account is still open after so many months into my bankruptcy? And if it is still open does that mean I can still use it? It would be very handy if I could because up til now I've been using pay as you go credit cards which, while very handy, charge me a monthly fee to use which is kind of annoying as I'm on a very tight budget.
Any advice or info anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I am no expert but if I remember correctly the 'freezing' of bank accounts after br is at the discretion of the bank not the or. Creditors e.g. banks are notified by the or when you are made br, what they do with 'your' account after that is up to them. Word of warning - do not use this account to deposit any money as the bank can freeze and seize any money in there without warning. Stick to using the bank account you've opened post br, hth.2019 MFW No. 74 £13700/£30000 (45.66%)
12k in 2018 No. 98 £6274.19/£18000 (34.85%)
BTL (start) £97440.00 (current) £68000.00
Residential (start) £275000.00 (current) £268000.000 -
It's an account with Ulster Bank. This is a bank in Northern Ireland.
I realise that here in Northern Ireland we have a different insolvency service
Than the rest of the UK but as far as I'm aware the basic conditions concerning
Bankruptcy are the same, so this account should no longer be open to me.0 -
It is the bank who would close the account, rather than the OR.0
