Does anyone know where I can purchase 6 LR14 Ni-Cd 1200 mAh rechargeable batteries? I have looked for a few hours online and cannot find them. Can someone please respond? Thanks!

Try maplins they often have special offers

I think Argos also sell them for a reasonable price.0 -
Why do you necessarily need 1200 mAh?
If you get ones of greater capacity, they will last longer between charges but will take longer to charge.
If they are 3000 mAh they will take 35 hours to charge (assuming your charger take 15 hours to charge 1200mAh batteries).
LR14 are also known as 'C', 'SP11' and 'HP11'. I am sure they sell these in Argos!0 -

They are for hubbys torch and it says that if you use batteries other than 1200 that it will break the bulb. I use rechargeables for almost everything but when it specifies that they most be 1200 I don't want to break his new torch! Do you think it would be safe to try?0 -
I do not understand the manufacturer's reasoning. The mAh is just the capacity of the battery. Just like having a car with a bigger petrol tank!
What would break the bulb is a battery of a higher voltage - not one of a higher capacity. An LR14 3000 mAh battery has the same voltage as an LR14 1200 mAh battery!
To continue with the analogy, a higher voltage battery would be like putting nitrous oxide in your fuel tank! You wouldn't do it! But the size of the tank doesn't matter!
I think that 1200 mAh is at the bottom end capacity-wise for an LR14 battery and it may be that they are difficult to find now.
When I got a new battery for my mobile phone it was a higher capacity than the original (and even higher than the sellers claimed) but it works just fine!0 -

That is what I thought too but I cannot understand why they emphasise 1200. Ooh well I will get them and see how they go. If it breaks the bulb I will just have to make sure I can get a new one!
