  • I was looking at getting sky plus too. On skys website they are offering the box for £99 and £60 installation fee - but if you subscribe to multi room for £10 a month the installation is free. But even better is that is you refer a new customer to sky then you get a sky plus box free.

Unfortunately I didn't know anyone who wanted to join - either they already had it or couldn't afford it. Then I was looking through the paper at weekend and noticed Comet are doing a deal where if you spend over £160 on a TV you get a sky plus box free (by ringing sky with a code you give them). The offer is only available instore though.
I found a LCD TV with integrated DVD player for £180 so bought that and sky are coming round tomorrow to install the free sky plus box. Oh and the offer of the free installation for the multi room is available with this offer too.

    Hope this helps!
  • I too am looking and the best deal I've seen is with Sky. I called them and asked for their best offer, and he said he could do it over the phone for £49.99 and free installation.

I want to buy it online though so I can get money back through Quidco!

usually best deals are for existing customers.

    I got sky+ for £65 +free install last December.

I rang up and said i was thinking of cancelling my sky and they asked why, and i explained i miss a lot of progs i'd like to watch so was going to get a freeview recorder or a dvd recorder and freeview, as couldn't afford £100 for sky+ and didn't want sky multi-room at £10 a month.

I expect this is now the £49.99 deal that Iffy'swifey was talking about above, as like i said it was 11 months ago now.

btw you have to take out a new 12 month contract - if you already have sky this replaces the contract you were under already. It means you have to have the £43 package for 12 months.

hope this is understandable / helpful?!

i'm hoping to downgrade to a cheaper package when my contact is up in Dec, but not sure best way to go about doing so.
