If you are looking for help in finding something cheaper you should have posted in the 'I wanna' section with a specific title so if people knew of something similar they would click on your thread and you would get more replies.
That product is exclusive to Tesco at the moment according to

For less than half of that money you could buy him a complete home brew kit (approx £35) and the gas (approx 15). I remember my dad doing it ages ago and having to throw most of it away. The modern ones are much better and are actually quite nice, honest. It also means that he can try different ales/lager/cider/porter rather than being tied into carlsberg.
If interested go to a local specialist homebrew shop; they will give you good advice and sell you want suits your taste. Stay clear of things like Wilco's until you have a bit of experience"Success is not to be measured by the position someone has reached in life, but the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed." Looks like a fab present though. I know a few people that would like one of those!0

Am sure Makro had one or a similar thing in their catalogue, but I have thrown it away - sorry.0

hiya
hope i can help, the only place you can buy these is at tesco either online or in a store, they are the only stockist, don't forget you have to buy the replacement kegs also which are about 11.99 - think they hold about 5 litres, I understand though that they are not the easiest things in the world to work, there have been a few teething problems.0
