Making a claim for pothole damage?

Hi there,

Would anyone know how I go about making a claim against Roads Service for car damage caused by a pothole?

I really don't know what to do - I have taken photos of the potholes but don't know what procedure to follow now.

Unfortunately I can't get your link to work - what should I put in the search engine to find the threads manually? Is it specific advice to NI Roads Service claims? Thanks.

On the Northern Ireland forum home page - top right hand side - just underneath where the list of page numbers is, you will see a link that says "Search this Forum". Click the arrow beside that and type pothole into the search screen - it will bring up all the threads that discuss it. There is a link in one or more of them to the DRD Roads Service information about claiming for damage. :-)

Good luck with getting compo. A few years back my bike went into a hole and I spent £450 getting a new wheel and tyre, the DRD refrused to believe a hole even EXISTED where i said it happened. Even took them to court, incurring more expense...
Wish I'd taken a pic of the hole at the time...lesson learned!
