Lowell Financial turned into Tocatto. Any advice pls?

Hello

I'll try be brief as I've read lots on here about Lowell.

I had a mobile contract with 3 that ended in feb 2006, I settled the final payment of £38.32 and recieved a letter confirming this. Alas I no longer have the letter.

Since 2009 I've had several letters from Red Debt collectors and Lowell financial which has now been passed onto Tocatto Ltd (working on behalf of Lowell) a new debt collector outfit.

I contact 3 about it when I recieved my first debt letter the requesting £38.32 and they wouldn't confirm or deny over the phone the status of my old and close account but they could relieve me of £10 to obtain my account info.

I've never replied to any of the debt collector letters sent to me at the two addresses I've lived at since, given I'm stubborn, I don't think baliffs would come for that considering other previous debts and I don't owe it.

I've checked my credit record online today to see that my hutchison 3 account is settled as of August 2006 and I have no defaults relating to 3 or any debt collectors at all.

Does this simply mean the debt has been sold on to collector outfits or is this debt non-existant? There's no reference to defaulting my credit record, but they will "consider advising Lowell financial ltd - three mobile to use the services of a home agent" should I not pay (again!)

Thanx for taking the time to read and thanx for the advice over the years.;)

  • I've been in the same situation for 5 long years... my contract ended in 2006 and I wrote to the company advising I'd moved and that I wanted to cancel at the end of my contract. They claim never to have received my letter - just ignore Tocatto and keep the faith - failing that contact OFCOM!

I'm in the same situation regarding an alleged debt between myself and o2 going back to 2005. Surely this debt is now too old for collection?
I had also settled my debt at the time yet the continue to harass me. It's for £51.71.
