?? stopping interest payments while on CCCS DMP

Hello debt-free wannabees all.
Firstly this is a tremendously useful website, and while not a great poster of threads, I am an avid reader.
I am in the usual dreadful state of indebtedness that is found here. However, I do have a steady income and have tackled the problem by setting up a DMP with the CCCS. I set it up jsut about a year ago and it immediately stopped hassle from the creditors (Coop Bank and Sainsbury's Bank).
On a separate but related note, I am also trying to reclaim bank charges, which is a longer term plan.
My question to all you helpful folks is this: is there any way I can stop the creditors adding interest payments onto the debts? It currently seems to outweigh all the work I am trying to do in paying the debts off.
I haven't been able to talk to the CCCS as the office hours are the same as mine and I don't have any chance to make private phone calls.
I would really appreciate any help or advice from you good people.

I would suggest writing to your creditors asking them again to freeze intrest and charges. There are template letters on nationaldebtline website. From what I have read on here the coop seem to be quite resonable in a DMP. I can't remember off hand who finances sainsburys bank but its someone like HFC who you may find less reasonable. Send them both your SOA and request a freeze and then for them to review it in 6 months. If you don't ask them they arnt going to do anything.0

The CCCS should be liasing/negotiating with your creditors to freeze interest. That's what Payplan have done for me. Do CCCS not do this? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
