Can anyone help I lost my home in a fire 3 years ago. I am still trying to get all the insurance. I received enough to repair the house but the mortgage company would not let me do this. I asked they held the money & made stage payments to the builders, they would not do this but made me sell. Having sold & paid off oustanding mortgage, they charged me £7500 for early settlement, I really feel this is unfair as I tried every which way to hold on to my once beautiful home. Any help would be great.:mad:

No but have just been on penaltycharges.co.uk there is a post there. I think it really unfair even if it's no unlawful0

I've no advice I'm afraid. Have you tried complaining directly to your lender in writing to see what they say?
