... I would have to be "posing" as a particular type of consumer so it wouldn't be genuine.
Is this being done to deceive the TV company? If so you should refuse on ethical grounds.

Tell the employer you have tourettes and it is likely you'll accidentally call him a !!!!ing !!!!y piece of !!!! !!!! on air. As such, best to pick someone else. :)

Tell your employer you have a medical condition that emits U.V. and the camera's can't pick you up.

Simply tell your employer you don't want to do it and you won't.

I'm not sure a release form is relevant. A lot of what you find on the internet about release forms is based on US law not UK law and in both countries people end up on TV news all the time without signing a release form! I suspect the only permission necessary would be for the TV company to film on private property.

So keep it simple, you won't do it, you only have 4 weeks left there, what are they going to do?

I'd have a chat with your employer, and simply state (nicely but firmly) that you don't feel comfortable performing in front of a camera, and that there surely must be others within the company who would enjoy the media attention, and jump at the opportunity, but you however are not one of them.

You only have 4 weeks to go before you start your new job, and you clearly don't want to leave on bad terms, but I would still stand my ground and say no, as it seems quite mean that they are forcing you to do it against your will.

    Hope all goes well.

DH and I have both been filmed and have had to sign release forms in certain situations. DH can't remember if he's had to when he's been interviewed for the local news, but that's a bit different because clearly he's agreed to be interviewed. When we had a C4 programme at each of our work places, everyone the cameras got anywhere near had to have their photo taken, holding up their name underneath, and sign a release form. Fortunately the footage with me in it wasn't shown!

Yeah that happened on One Born Every Minute, I worked on the Christmas one, we had to make sure not to film or include anyone who hadn't given any consent to be filmed. Some people said they were ok being in the background, but didn't want to be interviewed or involved much. So if you don't sign a release form they can't show you. They're better off finding someone else, so it doesn't mess the TV people around.

As tonight is the last episode of this series of Being Human, it might be appropriate to tell your employer that you're a vampire, and can't actually be seen through a camera lens. :)

I appeared on TV years ago along with some work colleagues and there was an "Appearance Fee" given. Unfortunately it went direct to our employer - and none of us saw a penny!
