Clueless

Hi,
I have been really inspired after reading all your posts and thought I would make that my aim too. My husband does our finances so I am clueless about how much our mortgage currently is and to my shame I dont know anything about our finances. My husband isn't good at budgetting so my first job will be draw up a budget and take it from there. Feel soooo embarassed as I have no clue but everyone has to start somewhere.

First a bit about me I currently work part time as I have a DS who is two. I have a good paying but very stressful job. My husband works away quite a bit and although he earns good money we never seem to have much spare.

I started lurking on the old style board a few weeks ago and have learned so so much already. I feel have had a real lightbulb moment and am determined to pay down our mortgage so that I can hopefully move to a bigger house as I am having fertility treatment so fingers crossed will need the extra room :)

Anyway sorry about the ramble but going to start my paperwork search

Wish me luck x

  • Hello Welshbird,

Welcome to the boards, many people don't really look at their accounts so don't fully know their situation so don't feel embarassed about it.

When you have some figures post an SOA.

    Good luck!

    Welshbird,

Welcome and don't feel too embarassed. I used to feel sick at the thought of looking at money and avoided dealing with our mortgage, credit cards etc and look at me now :D

Congrats on the LBM. You will be so proud of what you achieve.

Lots of great tips on the daily small things thread on this board.

    Good luck

Once you become a MFW you know where every penny is and what is goes on. Non MFW tend to think we are a bit nuts. Possibly true but for good reasons.
