hi folks
so this is my problem.....
i have an overdraft with halifax for £1700, i never get out of it each month as i have just changed from working full time to part time. halifax charge me £1 per day so i get charged at least £30 per month. i just cant seem to pay any off, and i dont see the point as they will charge me £1 per day anyway!
can i close this account and pay off money each month or will i still be charged the £30 per month?
anyone else had this problem with halifax?

Hi
I was with LLoydstsb. and had 2 overdrafts of £1500. I swapped accounts to Halifax (my wages and bills) and LLoyds cancelled my overdraft on one of my accounts and are now chasing me for full payment of £1500.:(
Just a heads up......

I dont usually stick up for banks as on the whole they have been nothing but a pain but I would speak to them and tell them your situation, I had excellent results with Lloyds by ringing them.
Say "You want to pay the debt off but there is now way you can while they keep adding the fees and interest" see if they will give you 6 months off or something so you can have a go at the balance.
The other option is to just leave it completely, you risk the issue of it being defaulted but at this point the balance will be frozen and more than likely it will go to a debt collector. The good thing about this is you can pay them what you can afford and the balance wont go up.0
