Guys & Girls, what is a DS? DH? DD?

Sorry to sound stupid but I am guessing kids?

I know what an OH is (other half) but I come across these abbreviations and I can only assume people are referring to their children???

ie: Me and DH or Me and the DS or My DD and I....

Help?

on a bad day: dreaded, dreary, dreadful, darn, ...

DS - Darling (or dear) Son
DD - Darling (or dear) Daughter
DH - Darling (or dear) Husband

For quite some considerable time I thought DH stood for d*ckhead, but I think that was just because my DH at the time fitted that description perfectly
