I have just had a call from home to say there is a telemessage, apparently a new type of telegramme, I am very worried do creditors contact you in this way? I have wriiten to all my creditors very step of the way (before I defaulted on payments) and am in teh process of setting up a DMP with CCCS but am really worried something nasty is in this telemessage, anyone know of this?

Could be a phone scam! Does it ask you to phone a number? If so Google it. Could be some dodgy premium 0870 number! :mad:0

It is the old Tele-O-Gram service from our friends at westcot, ( used to be Tele-E-Gram but that was stoped by trading standards for misrepsentation) they will be wanting tell you that HL Legal are after you, and that they are going to take you to court sell your children and put you in jail, and what ever other little fantasy’s they have today.HHH wrote:I have just had a call from home to say there is a telemessage, apparently a new type of telegramme, I am very worried do creditors contact you in this way? Ignore it, and don’t ring them under any circumstances.
if you are in a DMP let CCCS deal with your creditors:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
I thought that sounded really dodgy too, but I've just googled it and apparently it's a service from BT (provided the envelope has their logo etc) to chase "overdue invoices etc".Proud to be dealing with my debts:dance:

They are rather nasty 'Debt Collectors' - Not nice to know. :mad:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

not wanting to insult any one at all saying nasty debt collectors (is a bit scarey) to some people as many know on here debt collectors are charactors with limited powers and should not be feared as this is the type of panic they wish to cause any messages like phone messages should be ignored if you have contacted the creditors by letter continue to do so you must keep proof through the whole debt scenario , a debt collector cant kill you ,cant take your belongings ,cant come back on your property if you ask them to leave , court appointed bailiffs are different topic dont let it get that far ,lets get real here get good legal advise pay what you can afford up it when you can and dont be intimidated by any one , i agree im now debt free and its easy to say but keeping everything in perspective got me through 4 years of dealing with debt and silly dca companies,0

As has been mentioned Westcot are a debt collector, and HL legal are an associated “solicitors” (and I use the term loosely)
If you do not reply to the “tele-o-gram” calls they will then enter the next phase of their routine which involves sending out letters from “HL Legal” who threaten further action.
However as has been said, do not enter into any form of telephone correspondence with these Muppets, and if you do get any letters make CCCS aware so that they can deal with them on your behalf. It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
can i just add that i have had a telemessage in the past and it could be a company that you have an outstanding balance with and they want to offer you a reduction around 25% if you pay it in full0

Are you sure it's a telemessage? You can text any landline from any mobile & it sounds like a computerised message on the receiver's end. I only found it recently & I enjoy winding up the kids with it!Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Debt now (October 2009 - absolutely fork all!!!)
