|Slow cooker advice

Hi all,

I am new to all this but have learned soooo much in the last few weeks thanks to all the lovely people on here. I have seen lots of people mention about slow cookers so I thought I would invest in one. I was just wondering if any of you would be kind enough to let me know a good one to get. I would rather spend a bit more than buying a cheap one and then wishing I had bought another one or if the old me returns just binning it and buying another one.

Thank you x

As I can cook a whole chicken in it and its plenty big for the 4 of us, with some left over for lunch the next day.

I've got this one: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4228826.htm and I really like it :) had it for about a year and it's done everything I've needed it to.

Makes about 8 portions of casserole/soup/chilli at a time. (Awesome for homemade readymeals to go in the freezer).

Though mine doesn't have those things to hold the lid down. I got mine from Argos but they don't appear to have them anymore. Though places like Amazon does.

I have the Argos value range one. It's small but enough for 2 adult and a child meal at least. I mainly use mine for making soup and get 4 decent portions out of it.

I make stock in mine too and pop it on and forget about it for a while lol! I have to smack the bones a bit so they fit in but it works. I've cooked 'roasts' and all sorts in mine and never had any problems.

Depends on your family size and the offers out there at the time of purchase, mine was only £6 half price :D

    I have this one: http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-2168.aspx

It makes plenty of food for me and my OH and has done me proud over the last 18 months. I bought it when our hob packed in and we were waiting for the landlord to fit a new one. Money very well spent in my opinion.

I bought a cheap one from Argos about eight years ago. I don't know the exact size or model, but it's big enough to get a whole chicken in.

I has been used a lot and is definitely one of the most useful things I have bought.
