I hope so.

Brrok - OP said she had a dental appointment. Just trying to calm her down before she goes.
Heylo.
My appointment is at 2pm but it's a while away so we have to leave at 1:15pm.
It wouldn't surprise me if it is my wisdom teeth, and if it is at least I know that it's nothing too serious.
Definitely going to keep the appointment, even though I'm scared, just to find out what's wrong. If anything needs doing I can always ask to be referred to a specialist for people with issues like mine but at least it'll be a bit clearer about what's going on.

A little update.

Went to the dentist, she looked at the gum, took an Xray and said that it isn't my wisdom teeth causing the bump but that I have a gum infection caused by not brushing properly.
Not sure how gum infections are treated but I wasn't given a prescription for antibiotics or anything so I guess it can't be that bad?
I always try to brush my teeth properly (I was neglected as a child and my teeth were disgusting so I try to look after them now) but just goes to show that sometimes when you think you clean them properly, you not always do. She said that I have loads of black bits and things (Was kind of demoralising to hear, but alas).
I have a "check up" on Monday and then I'm going to be referred to a hygienist (apparently I can only be referred to a hygienist after I've had a check up).2019 Wins

Hygienists can only legally work after a dentist has made a referral to them
We can only make a referral after a full diagnosis has been made.
Therefore thats the need for the full check up.
Good to know you are on the right track0 -

Ah, I see.
Thanks for that.

fab! Glad it was only a little dental blip! I bet it wasn't as bad as you thought! I used to be shizzle scarred ofthe dentist until I had an abscess and a root canal and I can honestly say that now I would always prefer to go to the dentist and have that small pain compared to the agony of an abscess!
Just a disclaimer for any wider audience reading this thread:
If you ever have any dental issues always please go to the dentist and do not assume that anything you read on the internet has anything to do with your condition. It is ALWAYS necessary to get this checked out by a professional. Same goes for anything a friend or coworker may tell you!
I hope I have not caused anyone to miss an appointment.House saving Targets:
