Time off for an interview

I am a governor and often do interviews which usually happen during the school day. None of the applicants seem to have a problem attending these, nor do any of the schools I am governor of refuse to allow their staff to attend interviews during the school day. I have occasionally though sat on panels where we have been about to make an offer to a candidate but changed our mind when it has come out on taking up a telephone reference that they have taken a sickie rather than a day off for the interview! This applies for a range of school roles btw, not just teaching posts.
That's a good point. I'll go in and ask tomorrow, the worst is that they say no and I have to turn down the interview.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -
I'm in the same position as you. Sometimes you just have to take a chance and lie. If its something you really want.
Althought I need to come up with some different excuses to leave early. I mean, how many dentist/doctors appointments can one realistically have a month
Just wrong....The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!
