Packaging a survival kit help please.

Well I am tring to be crafty but not going well. I have collected most of the bits and bobs for a new mum survival kit. Then I thought I'd be really crafty and make a handbag gift bag from here.
Well I ordered special paper/card to amke it. Spent ages making something that looks rather rubbish and is too flipping small for the bits to fit in.
So my question is what can I wrap it in? Someone on another thread suggested this so I thought maybe I could buy a sheet of funky wrapping paper (used most of the special paper I bought and it isn't big enough really). I have also found a pink toiletries bag which is funky but not what I wanted (I have made a radley dog gift tag etc to match the handbag).
:idea:So crafty people what is simple easy and cheap to make which doesn't need anything difficult to obtain (not in the UK so no craft shops here). Thank you inadvance.
EDIT: I do have a bit of celophane left from my cristmas wrapping.

Have you got any gift bags left over from Christmas ? If you have you could cover one with funky paper or whatever you think suitable.
When I did mine for my sons I found an old box kicking about that I covered with paper so they could keep all the bits and pieces together.
Maybe if you have a good scout around the house you miight find something you can re-cycle.
Sorry, not much help I'm afraid.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hmm hubby thinks it is a stupid idea anyway. Not sure if I'll even bother. Was meant to be a bit of fun for the new mum.
I'll have alook and see what I can see. Haven't any christmas bags or boxes as I had a look earlier. I'll have another look though. Thanks.0 -

Can you not put it in a wicker basket or similar then wrap it in cellophane with a bow? x0

At the moment, a lot of shops have plastic storage boxes on offer. Perhaps one of those? As they always come in super useful for putting baby bits in once done.0

Couldn't find a wicker basket anywhere here. I managed to find a small pink box with a lid so it is girly for her and reusable. Bought tissue paper and will package it nice. Can't find marbles though. I might pop into a pet shop as I'm sure I saw them with their fish stuff.
Also bought a baby memory keep sake book. The very hungry catterpillar book and I will write babies first book in it etc and some body shop toiletries for the new mum.
Thanks for the help though. Will make over the weekend and post monday
