I posted here as I saw the 'heads up' for the M&S sale on this thread! I can't keep up with the places to put and not put various money saving deals!!!
If this is out of place then if someone wants to MOVE IT feel free!!!!!!!

Debenhams are another great example of shops doing "fake" sales.
Take a set of Anolon pans I bought from there, apparently £200 yet most places sell them for less than £100. They got "reduced" in the 50% off sale to £100 but you know it's suspect when the red £100 price tag is actually pre-printed on the box....
They did later genuinely reduce to £75 which was when I made the purchase.0 -
Perhaps if they sold at reasonable prices to start with more people would buy - then a sale would be genuine when it comes along!
- and we would be glad of it then!Must stop spending . . . must stop spending . . .0 -
the sad fact is "fake" sales work..... so thats why shops do them.
Hence why DFS is still around and so many other furniture places have disappeared over the last few years.0 -
thanks for the HEADS UP op i would never of known other wise just like the m&s n next sales so thanks x0

Having worked in both retail (for a cat/diy company) and now a US wholesaler most retailers work on a high/low strategy. They mark stock up so that they can then advertids a sale price at a later date...they are nearly all at it.....and plan it in to their pricing schedules.Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
