Keeping soup in the fridge

I'm about to make some tomato soup - this is to take to work tomorrow and Thursday. Should I freeze it, or is refrigerating enough for the (relatively) short period of time?

If I were doing this at the weekend, I'd freeze it, but wonder if it's worth it for the sake of 48 hours?

Thank-you

  • it'll easily last 48 hours in the fridge, or even 72. i do that sort of thing all the time and never yet (im 41) had food poisoning. not sure if its different rules for meat tho

We have just finished a pot of soup on day 5 - it had been re-boiled every day when I served it - I always do this (I make huge pots of soup and don't have fridge space) and have never had any problems.

Re-boiling seems to be fine unless you have cream in it - cream soups seem to go off very quickly.
  • I keep soup in the fridge all the time and find it keeps really well - I've never had food poisoning from soup but have given myself fp from heating up rice (but not properly) - lesson definitely learned!
