Joint loan with ex husband advice

I have a joint loan with my ex-husband of 4 years. When we divorced there was a court order saying the house to be sold and any money to pay off the remaining loan debt, and if there were anything left it was to be split equally. There was about £10k of debt left. He was ordered to pay my costs (long story) and therefore my debt was reduced to about £2500, The court order says that I was to pay this amount off of the loan and then the remaining to be transferred into his sole name. I completed everything as requested by the order. To this day he still has not done anything which means the loan has just been accruing interest. The Halifax have now started chasing me again as the lumpsum paid onto the loan has run out and it is therefore in arrears again. I have tried everything. My solicitor has written several letters, each time he says there has been some sort of problem and promises to get it sorted. I have made complaints to the Halifax who say that as they were not party to the court order they dont have to listen to it. I have complained to the Ombudsman who say the same. I cannot be the first person in this position...but no one seems to know how to resolve it...HELP!

Really does sound like a legal matter, you need to get tough with your solicitor and ask them to act properly on your behalf.
