Tesco MFI deals ending April 2007

Hi, was just reading on the tesco clubcard deals that:

If you have been saving your Clubcard Vouchers for MFI, you must have ordered your Tokens and made your purchase by 30th April 2007.

See this: http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=180&bci=4294966443|Home

As an avid MFI voucher collector I will have to collect up the points even quicker now - I plan to buy a fitted kitchen and assorted bedroom furniture but now the clock is ticking down !!!

  • Be very careful buying anything from MFI, I too have been avidly saving for a new kitchen. Went in for a quote last week they have changed their policy.Previously they used to give you a print out of what you was actually ordering. Now you do not get the print out untill after you have ordered. They quoted me £3756.00 without appliances, worktops, and kitchen sink. Off I went to Howdens (nationwide company, formerly part of same company as MFI) same kitchens only ready assembled. They came out to me and gave me a full computer print out of what I was purchasing. Kitchen cabinets work out £1500 cheaper than MFI, AND their price of £2236 includes worktop, taps and a kitchen sink. Decided to use MFI for cooker purchase of £1700 instead. They are making one hell of a profit on extras such as infill panels. MFI £50 each according to them I need 9 Howdens £125.00
    MFI worktop £100 a length Howdens £46.
Even though I would have got the kitchen more or less for nothing I still dont like being ripped off.
Other bonus is delivery all in stock and being delivered this Friday, needless to say MFI cant deliver cooker that quickly.
CUT OFF DATE FOR XMAS 2008 1st NOV
    PB £17.87, Ipoints 3907, QUIDCO £217.94,
    SHOP&SCAN 1950, LITESPEED 1265,PINECONE £8,
    BOOTS £18.62, IPSOS 1190, VALUED OPINIONS £19.25,
MISC SURVEYS CLICK THROUGH ACCS ETC £23,
  • I posted about this earlier, although there is no definate date for actual purchases from MFI ending yet.

I also think MFI are overpriced but if your paying a 1/4 price its easier to swallow

Well it looks from the link Welshy has posted that there is a fairly definate date of 30th April 07.

Is there another clubcard mailing to come before then? Is there one in Feb?Need to maximise points between now and then to cover the cost of the bedroom furniture i've seen.

Oh, well, this is disappointing - hopefully Tesco will replace them with another company, Comet or Currys would be good.

Almost anyone other than MFI would be good. I know I used my Tesco vouchers but £89 for an office chair that's under 30 quid everywhere else? AND delivery not until 9 January (!!!) at extra cost, even though shop is 500 yards from where I live?? And £219 for a sofa bed that's £99 at other places???? That isn't available to view in ANY of their stores and isn't returnable if the colour isn't the way it's pictured online?????
Wouldn't dream of using them normally and this is the first and last time
    There will always be:

Just been reading the T & C's and they have altered. Any order after end of feb must come to £500 or more. Don't wait to spend your points.
Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

  • Mr Welshy has told me to stop moaning about it and to think of something to save my points for after April - guess it will be a holiday

My Hubby did the same to me tonight, with a few choice words........

He just does not understand the importance of a new kitchen!!!! (New and technically free!!!!)
  • My mum is looking to use her Clubcard points to get MFI vouchers and wanted to me to go online and find out how the Tesco points to MFI vouchers conversion works. Also, I require confirmation on whether the £250 minimum order total can be a combination of vouchers and cash, which I presume it is but require confirmation.

I wasn't sure myself on the process of point conversion and was confused further when my mum told me she gets vouchers from Tesco where the points are converted to paper with a value on them such as £6.50, £5.50, £5 etc with each tesco letter.

Is it these vouchers that are:
    a) converted to quadruple value MFI vouchers via postal/online redepmtion;
    b) used in MFI and will be accepted as having 4x their value;
    c) not valid for conversion for 4x offers once in this form?

Thanks for the reminder of the MFI deals ending/changing, hopefully this will get my mum moving! :rotfl:
    Your advice is appreciated
  • this is bad news for me:mad:

as i have not saved up enough for a kitchen.... i am only going to get a fridge/freezer and a electric hob.... as these items i am totally desperate for...

i really do hope that some other d.i.y type company joins the deals...

as i will end up selling my tescos vouchers evey time....

    and using the cash elsewhere.....

we dont go on hols.. as such...... even though we could pay for all the hols with deal vouchers... we could not afford the spending money.....

i must admit.. it was mainly.. the club card points.. ( and r & r's) that kept me going to tescos...... so will have to see what happens next year.. to see if there are new deals in their leaflet....
